Shamina Talyarkhan, Director of DHF India Board, is noted in the arts community as a collector and patron with diverse cultural interests. She was the principal patron for the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s ground-breaking exhibition on the historic 16th century Imperial Mughal manuscript, the Hamza Nameh. She is also a long-time supporter of the Islamic Art Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Shamina has run a design business in New York since 1978, and divides her time between India, Europe and America.
Mrs. Talyarkhan had to withdraw from the Directorship of DHF India in December, 2019, on account of her shift of domicile from India to the US. Her efforts towards the growth of DHF India will be fondly remembered.
